The Models Velyen Class 4 (4RF0100L) are supplied direct to the customer with a pedestal and a separate controller. These two items take up a lot less room than the standard console so are useful in a very tight MOT Bay layout.
The controller itself can be floor or wall mounted and the pedestal itself can be mounted anywhere in the workshop.
(Note : If you are placing the controller and pedestal a great distance apart the receiver for the infra-red remote control is situated in the wall mounted controller. You may need to extend this cabling. In addition there is a cable that must be run from the controller to the pedestal to enable them both to operate. This operation is simple to do but it will mean supplying and extending the two cables).
The wall mounted controller contains the switchgear, contactors, fuses etc, etc. The pedestal incorporates the very small PC, monitor and keyboard along with a shelf for the printer, the pedestal will need bolting to the workshop floor.
(Note : Due to printers always changing and being updated, it is usually necessary to download the printer drivers, you will require the drivers to be on a memory stick with this machine).
All Velyen brake testers incorporate “soft start motors” these are a real selling feature, the usual bang that is heard when starting other manufacturers rollers are totally eliminated when using soft start.
All Velyen roller brake testers are 3 phase supply only.

Mopeds, Motorcycles & Three wheeled vehicles.
– All Velyen roller brake testers can carry out brake testing on mopeds, motorcycles and 3 wheeled vehicles.
– If you intend to test 3 wheeled vehicles a parameter in the machines software will need to be changed, to change this parameter you will need the Velyen service dongle.
– When using the brake tester for motorcycle testing you will require the option of a motorcycle cover plate.
– The Cover plate for Class 4, 4RF0100L is Part Number : 4301900.
– No other hardware or software is required.

Other ancillary items for customer satisfaction.
– Larger Monitor: This Velyen brake tester does not use an industry standard PC, but if your customer requires a larger monitor for instance, it’s no problem. We have this machine with wall mounted 42” TV screens operating already.
A simple “powered” monitor splitter device from PC World or similar plus the additional screen, wall mounting bracket and cabling make a simple update for any installation. (These items at your own cost)
– In-Car tablet (Android or other) : Velyen have supplied customers with in-car tablets when the customer requires it. You will need your choice of tablet plus an APP downloadable software. A recommended APP Software is the Mocha VNC. This easily available, free download software is available online. (These items at your own cost).

Remember when downloading anything to the pedestal installed PC. This is not an industry standard PC, therefore does not have a CDROM drive, all updates and changes will need to be via a memory stick.

In a MOT Bay, there’s a lot to consider. Enough space around the lift, enough height, the bay long enough, what class of MOT, etc.

Well the good news from Velyen is yes we can customize it around your needs.

It might take some external extras but you can test motorcycles and 3 wheelers, you can add a larger screen as big as you like and you can use a tablet in-car with you. And if the MOT Bay is very small or very tight you can use a much smaller pedestal mounted model brake tester.
